He was predeceased by: his parents, James Clarence Hughes (J. C.) and Betty Lou Cox Hughes (Cox). He is survived by: his grandchildren, Bryan, Wyatt and Sophia; his wife Melanie Rose Haydel Hughes; his daughters, Brandy Lynn Granier Ayers and Melissa Ann Granier Beecham; his grandchildren, Jaxon Ayers and Grace Beecham; his sons, Alvin Ayers and Phillip Beecham; and his siblings, Hughes Jr. (Beverly) and Pat Flanagan (late D.).
In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests that donations be made to St. Joseph's Catholic Church or Boys Scouts of America (checks payable to BSA Troop# 210 and mailed to Saint Joseph's Catholic Church).
