He was predeceased by: his parents, Minnie Ola and Hubert Buchanan; and his brother Charles Allen Buchanan. He is survived by: his wife Ila; his children, Sandy East, Buck Buchanan Jr. and Connie Buchanan; his sister Agnes Phillips (Don); his grandchildren, Ben East (Melina), Erin Buchanan, Alysia East, Dora Booth (Brock), Leigh Ann Buchanan and Chloe Buchanan; his great grandchildren, Sally, Hazel Booth, Westleigh Hunter, Kaydence Rowland, Mikey and Cheyenne Howard; and his nephew Larry Davis (Margaret).
In lieu of flowers the family has asked that memorials be made to the Alzheimer's Association and or to River Crossing Cowboy Church.
