It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Velma D. Mitchell of Marshall, Texas, who passed away on February 22, 2025, at the age of 94, leaving to mourn family and friends. She was predeceased by: her parents, Luther Plunkett and Odessa Plunkett; her siblings, Edward, Steve Plunkett and Alfreida Plunkett; her son Cedric Green; and her granddaughter Sonya Fisher.
She is survived by: her son Reginald S. Green; her daughter-in-law Linda Green; her sister Willella Plunkett; her grandchildren, Sherice Williams (Billie Williams), Reginald L. Green (Naomi Green) and Reginald S. Green, Jr.; and her great grandchildren, Destiny Williams, Angel Williams, Darius Williams, Alexander Green, Gabrielle Green, Kierre Williams, Khyree Williams, Kwestin Williams and Kaylen Fisher. She is also survived by nieces and nephews.
Visitation will be held on Friday, February 28th 2025 from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM at the Downs Funeral Home (4608 Elysian Fields Rd, Marshall, TX 75672). A funeral service will be held on Saturday, March 1st 2025 at 10:00 AM at the same location.
