He was predeceased by: his parents, J. Lee Flanagan and Della Mae Flanagan; and his siblings, James, Lonnie Muse and Delores Flanagan Rogers.

He is survived by: his siblings, Lynn Skinner, Shirley Winn and Sharon Seals; his siblings-in-law, Donald, Melanie, Suzanne and Wanda (Brian Flanagan); and also Stan. He is also survived by nieces and nephews.
