He was predeceased by: his parents, Aaron Tatum Morton, Sr. and Thelma Inez Pearson Morton; his daughter Sharon Morton; his brother Hollis Morton; his cousin J. T. Morton; his nephew Paul Morton; his niece Becky Morton; his brothers-in-law, Charles Maxwell and Wade Johnston; and his parents-in-law, Lloyd and Gweneth Blount.

He is survived by: his wife Alma Lucille Morton; his brother Dwight Elardo; his son Robert "Rusty" Morton; his sister-in-law Dana Morton; his nieces and nephews, Mike Morton, Mary Clark, David Morton, Skip Morton and Barb Morton; and his siblings-in-law, Lucille Morton, Annalee Cole, Anita Johnston, Margaret Maxwell, Mary Easterling and Harold Cole. He is also survived by numerous other nieces, nephews, friends and family.
