He was predeceased by: his parents, Melvin Jones, Sr. and Hattie Dean Jones; his wife Ruby Joe Jones; his son Jerry Godfrey; and his siblings, Ruben Ritter, Melvin Jones, Jr., Bernard Jones, Royce Maddox and Betty Newman.
He is survived by: his son Terry Godfrey (Johnette); his grandsons, Currie Godfrey (Elizabeth) and Chance Godfrey (Ashley); and his siblings, Mary Elliott and Don Maddox (Lurlie). He is also survived by numerous relatives and beloved friends.
