He was predeceased by: his parents, Mort Brown and Mary D. Yancy Brown; and his brothers, Eugene Yancy, Rev. W. C. Yancy and J. C. Brown.
He is survived by: his significant other Dolphus M. Goynes; and his brother Maurice Brown (Joyce) of Jefferson, Texas. He is also survived by 2 step-children; 2 grandchildren; 3 great-grandchildren.
