He was predeceased by: his parents, Verna Shaw and Mayme Shaw; and his siblings, Ray Shaw, Carl Shaw, John Shaw and Margie Blades.

He is survived by: his wife Betty Shaw; his siblings, Lee Shaw (Yvonne), Raphael Shaw (Caroline) and Corrine Kichens; and his children, Bernie Shaw (Katherine), Aaron Dickard, Stacy Burns, Crystal Eddins (Greg) and Erica Rodgers (Scott). He is also survived by many nieces, nephews, grandchildren and great grandchildren.
