She was predeceased by: her parents, James Carpenter and Mary Lee Carpenter; and her siblings, Essie Pearl Colbert, James Earl Carpenter, Lula Mae Franklin, Rita Gilbert, Mary James Sparks and Willie Carpenter.
She is survived by: her children, Jeffery Fowlkes, Samantha Milligan and Hope Fowlkes; her grandchildren, Deanna Carter, Anthony Fowlkes, Donta Fowlkes, Carol Fowlkes, Turhon Fowlkes, Daivon, Silvia Henderson, Amanda Milligan, Bryson Gillespie and Lloyd Gillespie Jr.; and her great grandchildren, Saniya, Sahrina, Zion Henderson and Brooke Duncan. She is also survived by her adoptive family The Smith's and a host of nieces, nephews, cousin and countless friends.
