He was predeceased by: his parents, Cecil Weir and Neida Porterfield Weir; and his grandparents, Ossie, Thelma Porterfield, Gill and Willie Lee Weir.
He is survived by: his close friend Suzanne Holder; his children, Joseph Edwards, Shelly Cox (Buddy) and Dr. Howard Lomax; his brothers, Alton Weir (Gloria) and Donnie Weir (Phyllis); his granddaughter Hanna Brown; his great grandchild Nolan Brown; his uncle James Weir (Dorothy); his niece Jennifer Gillaspie (Ben); and his nephews, Donnie Weir, Jr. (Marla), Daniel Weir (Leslie) and Douglas Weir. He is also survived by 4 great nieces and 4 great nephews.
In lieu of flowers the family requests that donations be made in his honor to the Marshall Animal Shelter.
