He was predeceased by: his parents, James McCarty and Hilda McCarty; his wife Dorothy McCarty; his daughter Mary Ann Blanton; and his siblings, Lanelle Ellis, Emory McCarty and David McCarty.
He is survived by: his brother Pete McCarty; and his children, Janet Becan, Bill McCullough and Jim McCarty. He is also survived by eight grandchildren and seven great grandchildren.
In lieu of flowers, the family suggests donations to MD Anderson Cancer Center.
