He was predeceased by: his parents, Eugene Thomas II and Louise Gibson Rush; and his brother C. W. Rush. He is survived by: his wife Frances Louise Jurek Rush; his sons, Eugene T. "Pete" Rush IV, Michael Rush, Mark Rush, Tracy Rush, Louis Rush (Rachel) and Steven Rush (Karrie); and his sisters, Laura McKissick and Lisa Rush. He is also survived by numerous grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

Memorial donations may be made to Trinity Baptist Church in Palacios.
