He was predeceased by: his parents, Willard Matheny and Ethel Matheny Castle; his brother Herbie Matheny; and his son-in-law Michael Leveillee. He is survived by: his wife Billie Jane Wolf; his children, Michael Matheny (Michele), Pam Crouch (Robert) and Karen Leveillee; and his grandchildren, Keith Ingalls Kimberly (Christie), Mathew Leveillee (Jaclyn), Corey Ingalls (Ana), Megan Davis (Texas), Christopher Matheny (Sam), Kaitlin Maxwell (Thomas), Taylor Vinton (Annette) and Devon Matheny. He is also survived by 15 great grandchildren, as well as numerous nieces and nephews.
Visitation was held on Tuesday, January 21st 2025 from 12:00 PM to 12:00 PM at the Schertz Funeral Home & Crematory (2217 FM3009, Schertz, TX 78154, USA). A funeral service was held on Tuesday, January 21st 2025 at 1:00 PM at the same location. A graveside service was held on Friday, January 24th 2025 from 9:15 AM to 9:30 AM at the Fort Sam Houston National Cemetery (1520 Harry Wurzbach Rd, San Antonio, TX 78209).
