He was predeceased by: his former wife Winnie A. Jones; his daughter Melissa L. Williams; his parents, Leslie Newman and Effie Jean Newman; and his siblings, Jerry Newman, Roy Newman (Emma), Leslie Newman, Bessie Grigg and Ruby Newman.
He is survived by: his daughters, Marsha A. Bruno (Daryll), Pamela Newman (Samuel Merz) and Hope Newhouse (Kyle); his son-in-law Deon Williams; his siblings, Fleet Newman (Rhonda), Inez Cunningham and Barbara Wheeler; his sister-in-law Rose Newman; and his pet Baby. He is also survived by many nieces and nephews.
