She was predeceased by: her husband Roy G. McCord; her parents, Logan Tate, Sr. and Beatrice Tate (Jeter); and her siblings, Logan Tate, Jr., Harold Tate and Dorothy Tate.

She is survived by: her children, Deborah Carpenter of Marietta, Texas, Leon McCord (Mary) of Dalton, Texas and Jeffery McCord (Nora) of Marietta, Texas; her siblings, Betty Medlin of Greenfield, Indiana, David Tate (Bonnie) of Bowling Green, Kentucky and Larry Tate (Mary) of Bowling Green, Kentucky; and her grandchildren, Melissa Shae Bonner (Reginal) of Longview and Roy Daniel. She is also survived by 18 great-grandchildren; 18 great great-grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews.
