He was predeceased by: his child Lora Carroll Hartfield (Estes); his son-in-law Edward G. Schmidt, Jr.; and his brothers, Alvin Jr. and Albert Jr.. He is survived by: his daughters, Deborah Schmidt, Linda Runyan (Johnny) and Nancy Shaffer (Dan); his sister Elsie Krobot; his grandchildren, Crystal Johnson (Kirk), John Austin, Judson Austin (Angie), Richard Runyan, Brandin Gavranovic and MaKayla Gavranovic; and his great grandchildren, Paige, Colby, Savannah, Harli and Journi.
