He was predeceased by: his parents, Lucille Funkhouser and Virgil Funkhouser; his daughter Hallie Elizabeth Sheffield; his parents-in-law, Juanita Mallet and Ramon Mallett; his wife Donna Funkhouser; his son-in-law Jason Sheffield; and his grandchildren, Ileigh Kelly, Lincoln Kelly, Jackson Sheffield and Braydon Sheffield.

A celebration of life was held on Saturday, January 11th 2025 at 11:00 AM at the Walnut Ridge Baptist Church (1201 TX-360, Mansfield, TX 76063). A burial was held on Saturday, January 11th 2025 from 1:00 PM to 2:30 PM at the Skyvue Memorial Gardens (7220 Rendon Bloodworth Rd, Mansfield, TX 76063).
