He was predeceased by: his mother Elizabeth Jackson; and his siblings, Barbara Johnson, Wanda Jackson, Tonnie Johnson and Cecil Johnson.

He is survived by: his father Lloyd Bedford; his wife Barbara Moore; his children, Courtney Jackson (Michael), Lindsey Jackson, McKenzey Brisco (Jaden) and Melvin Wayne Jackson Jr.; his grandchildren, Romeo, Charisma and Nellie; and his siblings, Brenda Faye Amos, Doris Jackson, Beverly Johnson, Deloria Johnson, Michael Ray Johnson, James Johnson, John Jonson and Greg Morris.

A celebration of life was held on Friday, November 1st 2024 at 10:00 AM at the Willowbrook Funeral Home Chapel (1311 W Florida Ave, Midland, TX 79701). A burial was held on Friday, November 1st 2024 at 3:00 PM at the Fairview Cemetery.
