He was predeceased by: his parents, Willie Maple Young (Bentley) and Van Floyd Young; and his siblings, Bill, John, Willie Mae and Jeanie Marie.

He is survived by: his wife Joyce Young (Grafe); his children, Roy Young of Buda and Sarah Mauldin of Liberty Hill; his siblings, Wade "Bub", Ruby (Koenig) and Clara (Dean); and his grandchildren, Mary, Fox, Dylan and Bryce.
