He was predeceased by: his father James Samuel Colbert, Sr.; his niece Ashley Koonce; and his great-niece Paisley Hudson. He is survived by: his mother Rita Stepp (Locklin) of Rockdale; his fiancée Julie Bennett of Athens; his son Jaydon Bennett of Athens; his siblings, James Colbert, Jr. of Kansas, Vonnie Hardesty of Kansas City, Rhonda Thomas (Andrew) of Athens, Angela Hill (Anthony) of Athens and Samuel Colbert of Athens; and his nieces and nephews, Derek (Kat), Christian (Hazel), Gabby (Chris Hoffman), AJ Hill and Heaven Brewer. He is also survived by numerous other nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles, and cousins.
