He was predeceased by: his parents, Dwight Carson Sr. and Dorcas Riddlespurger Carson; and his sister Sara Cope. He is survived by: his wife Edwina Carson; his sons, Ricky Carson (Carla) and Barry Carson (Celeste); his sister Martha Hardt; and his grandchildren, Rachel Carson, Brand Carson and Corinne Carson.
