He was predeceased by: his parents, Derwood Hampton, Sr. of Washington and Elnora "Eleanor" Lee Hampton (Applewhite); his wife Wanda Jean Weldon (Sims); and his sister Bobbie Lee Pope. He is survived by: his child Donnie Weldon; his granddaughters, Pura Wilcox and Kristan Weldon; and his nephews, Tommy Pope and Buddy Pope. He is also survived by numerous great-grandchildren.
