He was predeceased by: his parents, Horace Deaton and Madia Deaton; and his siblings, Kenny Deaton and Mary Bingham. He is survived by: his wife Sandra Kay Powers; his son Scott; his daughter-in-law Cathy Deaton; his son Brent Deaton; his in-laws, Trent, Gloria Young, Gary, Brenda Powers, Dan and Joanne Sneed; and his grandchildren, Blaze Calderon, Reagan Deaton, Kendyl Deaton, Karsyn Deaton, Brady Roberts and Judd Deaton.

A funeral service was held on Friday, December 6th 2024 from 12:30 PM to 1:30 PM at the Magnolia Missionary Baptist Church (835 Magnolia Blvd, Magnolia, TX 77355).

It was Pastor Deaton's wish that any memorial tributes be made in the form of charitable donations to Heritage Baptist Institute at P.O. Box 124, Liberty, Texas 77575. Flowers and/or memorial contributions are equally welcome.
