He was predeceased by: his parents, Ellis Reginald Barrett, Sr. and Mary Helen Barrett; his former wife Elizabeth Shoemaker Barrett; and his son Ellis Reginald Barrett, III. He is survived by: his wife Jane Etta Urey Barrett; his children, Raymond (Dominique Barrett), Scott (Harriet Coakley), Randy (Amy Barrett) and Renea Tanner; his son-in-law Keith Barge; his brothers, David (Trish Barrett) and Johnny (Beckie Barrett); his grandchildren, Kayla, Ashley, Mikey, Chandler, Jackson, Mason, Kennedy, Olivia, Bianca, Presley and Connor; and his great grandchildren, Carter, Landon, Alice, Aurora and Autumn.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorials to Ellis' favorite charities.
