He was predeceased by: his parents, Roy Byrd and Lena Byrd of Flynn, Texas.; his brother Roy Dean Byrd; and his parents-in-law, Ceburn and Bonnie Parker.
He is survived by: his wife Kay Parker Byrd; his children, Dana Byrd Whitmire (Wayne Whitmire) and Brian Byrd; his grandchildren, Hudson and Grayson Whitmire; and his brother Marvin Daniel Byrd. He is also survived by numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins.
His passing was due to complications caused by COVID pneumonia.
