She was predeceased by: her parents, Lewis Philio and Clara Bell Johnson-Philio; her husband Darnell Sandles; and her siblings, Bobbie Haynes, Delores Bowden and Charles Philio.
She is survived by: her children, Alicia B. Hopkins (Roderick) and Shelton K. Sandles; her grandchildren, Megan Alise'Sandles-Douglas, Camise Tyler Curtis and Pryce A. Hunter; her siblings, Doris Doggett (Roger) of Hopewell, Johnnie C. Williams (Johnny) of Houston, Texas and Billy R. Philio (Verna) of Riverside, Texas; and her siblings-in-law, Gwendolyn Byrd of San Antonio, Jessie Sandles of Houston, Texas and William Sandles Jr. (Eler Mae) of Houston. She is also survived by nieces, nephews family and friends.
