It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Jeffrey E. Merchant of Madisonville, Texas, who passed away on February 28, 2024, at the age of 59, leaving to mourn family and friends. He was predeceased by: his parents, Marvin Johnson Sr. and Mary Lee Merchant; his grandparents, Abe, Clara Johnson, Horace Merchant and Margaret Moore; and his siblings, Debra Johnson Carter, Tammy Johnson, Sara Merchant, Andra Johnson and Marvin Johnson Jr..
He is survived by: his nieces, Tiffany and Tiera Merchant; his wife Theresa Davis; his children, Marcus Merchant, Q'Narius Butcher and Yonecra Butcher; his siblings, Ray Bo Hardeman, Anna Merchant, Melody Turner Wayne and Sandra Johnson; his mother-in-law Silverlene Davis; his siblings-in-law, Lois Price (Reginald Price) and Lester Davis; and his cousin Belinda "Red" Merchant. He is also survived by numerous nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.
