He was predeceased by: his parents, Charles "Red" Byrd and Alta "Nita" Byrd; and his brother Billy Ray Byrd. He is survived by: his children, James Allen Byrd (Stephanie) of North Zulch, Troy Dewayne Byrd (Tasha) of Franklin and Pamela Denise Smelscer (Brett) of China Springs, Texas; his sisters, Patsy Ann Byrd of Houston and Linda Byrd-Solis (Dale) of Arlington, Texas; and his pet Choca. He is also survived by eleven grandchildren; eighteen great-grandchildren.
A funeral service was held on Saturday, December 14th 2024 from 11:00 AM to 12:00 PM at the Rock Prairie Baptist Church (9085 Oxford Cemetery Rd, Madisonville, TX 77864). A burial was held on Saturday, December 14th 2024 from 12:15 PM to 1:15 PM at the Rock Prairie Cemetery (9085 Oxford Cemetery Rd, Madisonville, TX 77864).
