It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Peggy McCormick Johnston of Mabank, Texas, born in Mercedes, Texas, who passed away on April 1, 2024, at the age of 82, leaving to mourn family and friends. She was predeceased by: her parent Muyrel Truitt (Holt); her grandchildren, Michael Preston and Megan Frances; her father Albert Truitt; and her siblings, Cecil Truitt, Vera Halbeck and Shirley Jean Thomas.

She is survived by: her husband Randall Johnston; her children, Deborah Hagen (Troy), Lynda Filline (Chris) and Steve McCormick (Bethany); her stepchildren, Randall Johnston, II and Jennifer Thomas (Jon); her sister Billie Courtemanche; and her niece Rae Nell Halbeck. She is also survived by 15 grandchildren; 12 great grandchildren.
