He was predeceased by: his parents, Clyde James Bird, Jr. and Doris Reeves Bird; his brothers, Larry and Gary Bird; his former wife Shirley Hunley Bird; and his children, Howard Schaefer and Jeannie Sutton.
He is survived by: his wife Valerie Michelle Hood-Bird; his children, David Schaefer, Tommy Schaefer, Stacey Schaefer, Pam Schaefer, William Cullefer, Randy Sutton, Zac Crump, Lyndsey Olivarez and Kathy Glenn; and his sister Donna Bird. He is also survived by many grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
Visitation was held on Wednesday, January 15th 2025 from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM at the Eubank Cedar Creek Funeral Home (601 E Walnut St, Mabank, TX 75147). A funeral service was held on Thursday, January 16th 2025 at 11:00 AM at the same location.
