He was predeceased by: his father Jose Mercado; and his grandparents, Cleopatra Zangakis, Constantine, Preceding, Brigida Mercado and Elijo.
He is survived by: his mother Greta Mercado (Zangakis); his wife Christina Mercado (Sanchez); his children, Antonio and Athena Mercado; his brother Michael (Nichole); and his nieces, Needham, Kyle, Christine and Rugino.
Military Honors Ceremony will be held at Forts Sam Houston Cemetery on January 18, 2023 at 2:00 p.m.
