He was loved and cherished by many people including: his parents, Basilio Valdez, and Leonor Valdez, Sr. (Delgado); his children, John Steven Valdez (Raquel), Eliseo Valdez, Daniel Valdez, Malinda Valdez, Genoveva Rodriguez (Abel), Betsy Gonzalez (Jesse) and Leonor Vela (Manuel); and his sister Antonia Guzman. He was also cherished by 20 grandchildren and 12 great grandchildren.
