He was predeceased by: his parents, George McKnight and Jay McKnight. He is survived by: his wife Catherine Dale; his sons, Keith (Pam) and Marion (Marty); his grandchildren, Austin (Jeana) and Maegan Rathmann (James); his great grandchildren, James Todd, Maeble Jean, Bode Harlen and Zachary Zadok; and his siblings, Alvin McKnight (Dorothy) and Aline Main. He is also survived by numerous nieces, nephews and cousins.

Visitation was held on Sunday, November 3rd 2024 from 4:00 PM to 5:00 PM at the Parkway Life Church (1865 FM 3573, Lumberton, Texas 77657). A celebration of life was held on Sunday, November 3rd 2024 at 5:00 PM at the same location. A graveside service was held on Monday, November 4th 2024 at 2:00 PM at the Forest Lawn Memorial Park (4955 Pine St, Beaumont, TX 77703).
