He was predeceased by: his parents, Tommie Ray and Sudie Mae Watson (Lewis); his wife Essie Lorine Watson (Richard); his sisters, Betty Edwards and Fayrine Cox; and his siblings-in-law, Elcie Duncan, Odell Reihle, Lewis Richard, Earnest Richard, Bud Richard and Temple Richard.
He is survived by: his daughter Melba Denease; his son-in-law Dale Murray of Hudson; his son Dennis; his daughter-in-law Sue Watson of Houston; his granddaughters, Angelia (Cole Lollar) of Hudson and Jennifer Watson of Houston; his great grandchildren, Emily (LJ Casper) of Hudson and Logan Lollar of Hudson; and his sister-in-law Jean Rudd of Hudson. He is also survived by nieces and nephews.
Visitation was held on Monday, April 28th 2025 from 5:00 PM to 7:00 PM at the Carroway Funeral Home (2704 S John Redditt Dr, Lufkin, TX 75904). A funeral service was held on Tuesday, April 29th 2025 at 1:00 PM at the same location.
