He was predeceased by: his parents, Birdie Hunt (Cole) and Sylvester Barber Hunt; and his siblings, Athorn Hunt, Robert Hunt and Dora Mae Brock.
He is survived by: his wife Jeanette Hunt (Lowery) of Lufkin; his children, Larry Hunt of Rosarito, Mexico, Sheryl (Todd Montgomery) and Darla (Jim Streater); his grandchildren, Brandi Hunt, Rachael Hunt, Meghan Hunt, Hillary (Steve Magness), Olivia (Ben Lechmann), Mikaela Montgomery, Serena Montgomery, Shelby Streater, Kendall Streater and Nathan Streater; and his great grandchildren, Haizley Magness and Wyatt Lechmann. He is also survived by nieces, nephews.
