It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Jerry Arthur Benson of Lufkin, Texas, born in Monroe, Louisiana, who passed away on October 27, 2024, at the age of 87, leaving to mourn family and friends. He was predeceased by: his parents, Jackson Arthur Benson and Minnie Eugenia Thompson. He is survived by: his wife Patsy (Baylor University); his daughters, Marlene Kay Sowell (Michael) and Lou Ann Fischer; his grandchildren, Jacob Springer (Rosa), Austin Springer, Dillon Springer, Bethany Fischer and Maddie Nona; his great grandchildren, Ava and Mia Nona; his brother Jan Benson (Joan); and his niece Patti Tourville. He is also survived by numerous other nieces and nephews.
