He was predeceased by: his parents, Lydia Acosta (Hernandez) and Ernest Barnabe Acosta; and his siblings, Julie Meyers, Lucy Acosta Booth, Olga Acosta and Ernest Acosta.
He is survived by: his wife Connie Acosta (Oates); his children, Vivian (Scott Getro), Clay (Shirley Acosta), Lucy (Phil Davidson), Gilbert, Jr. (Donna Acosta) and Ernest Acosta; his stepchildren, Christi (Belinda Pool), Aaron (Ashleigh Guidry) and Meagan (Nick Lawrence); and his sisters, Lydia Ezzell and Frankie Zamora. He is also survived by 17 grandchildren; 13 great-grandchildren, numerous nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.
Visitation was held on Sunday, December 15th 2024 from 1:00 PM to 2:00 PM at the Carroway Funeral Home (2704 S John Redditt Dr, Lufkin, TX 75904). The military honors was held on Sunday, December 15th 2024 at 2:00 PM at the Carroway Funeral Home Chapel (2704 S John Redditt Dr, Lufkin, TX 75904).
