He was predeceased by: his parents, Transito Diaz (Puebla) and Roman Diaz. He is survived by: his wife Estela Diaz (Trejo) of Lufkin; his children, Jose Daniel Diaz, David (Anna Diaz), Antonio (Dulce Diaz) and Lourdes Diaz; and his son-in-law Nelson Soriano. He is also survived by eight grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; eight brothers and sisters; and numerous nieces, nephews.

Visitation was held on Tuesday, March 18th 2025 from 5:00 PM to 7:00 PM at the Carroway Funeral Home (2704 S John Redditt Dr, Lufkin, TX 75904). A rosary was held on Tuesday, March 18th 2025 at 6:00 PM at the same location. A Mass of Christian burial was held on Wednesday, March 19th 2025 at 10:00 AM at the St. Patrick Catholic Church (2118 Lowry St, Lufkin, TX 75901).
