She was predeceased by: her brother-in-law Tommy Hollingsworth; and her nieces, Janet Procter and Kristen Schmidt. She is survived by: her parents, Dorothy Avera (Nessmith) and J. C. "Shorty" Avera; her husband James Smith of Lufkin; her daughter Lynette; her son-in-law Chad York of Lufkin; her son Ruston; her daughter-in-law Katrina Smith of Lufkin; her grandchildren, Brandon (Jinny Schmidt), Jordan Schmidt (Riley) and Holly Smith (Reed Smith); her great grandchildren, Kaisynn Schmidt, Bransyn Schmidt, Ethan Schmidt, Brylee Schmidt, Beau Schmidt and Mary Kate Smith; her siblings, Elsie (Bill Simpson) of Lufkin, Jonnie Hollingsworth of Lufkin and Jimmie; and her sister-in-law Tanya Avera of Silsbee. She is also survived by numerous nieces, nephews, other relatives, and friends.
Visitation was held on Wednesday, April 2nd 2025 from 1:00 PM to 2:00 PM at the Carroway Funeral Home (2704 S John Redditt Dr, Lufkin, TX 75904). A funeral service was held on Wednesday, April 2nd 2025 at 2:00 PM at the Watch Video Carroway Funeral Home (2704 S John Redditt Dr, Lufkin, TX 75904).
