She was predeceased by: her parents, Jimmy Smith and Jean Hinson Smith. She is survived by: her husband Dr. Stephen Gates; her children, Stephanie Dauman (Philippe) of New York, NY, Heather Lang (Simon) of Los Angeles, CA and David Gates (Tiffany) of Lubbock; her grandchildren, Lillian Rose Dauman, Charles Gates Dauman, George Stephen Lang and Henry Gates Lang; and her sisters, Debbie Karr and Sherri Gutierrez.
Visitation was held on Tuesday, October 29th 2024 from 5:00 PM to 7:00 PM at the Lake Ridge Chapel and Memorial. A funeral service was held on Wednesday, October 30th 2024 at 2:00 PM at the Melonie Park Church (6602 Indiana Ave, Lubbock, TX 79413).
