She was predeceased by: her husband Clemon Blakes; her son Clemon Blakes, Jr.; and her sister Nellie Sue Little. She is survived by: her children, Dale Blakes of Lubbock, TX, Lonnie Blakes (Connie) of Abernathy and Barbara Shorter of Lubbock; her grandchildren, Michelle Plasencio (Ernest), Craig Blakes, Chris Shorter, Kianna Blakes and Matthew Shorter; her great grandchildren, Veronica Meier (Fabian Carmona), Bobby Joe Rivera, Michaela Rivera (Gabriel Flores), Mya Jimenez, Jacob Jimenez, Jason Jimenez, Breanna Shorter, Brenden Elliott, L. J. Minjarez, Leandra Minjarez, Jolisa Plasencio and Elizabeth Plasencio; her sisters, Dorothy Blakes, Janie Fuller, Mary Crawford, Margaret Dennis (Glenn Rhodes), Edna Jackson, Alene Sango and Glendine Murrell (Jerry); and her daughter-in-law Sandra Blakes. She is also survived by 5 great great grandchildren.
Visitation was held on Friday, April 4th 2025 from 6:00 PM to 7:30 PM at the Abell Funeral Home - Abernathy (411 16th St, Abernathy, TX 79311). A funeral service was held on Saturday, April 5th 2025 at 1:00 PM at the First Church of the Nazarene - Dodson (441 E Main St, Dodson, TX 79230).
