He is survived by: his wife Juanita; his children, Veronica "Chona" Mendez Torres (Max Martinez) and Jonah Mendez; his grandchildren, Jacob Bobby Torres (Maria Salazar), Apryl Michelle Torres, Joshua Orosco, Fabian Isaac Torres (Le'Ann Navarrette), Mariah, Matthew Guajardo, Jacob Bobby and Torres Jr.; his great grandchildren, Luciana Rose Torres, Layla Rae Torres, Ezekiel Trae Torres, Ariel Violet Torres and Richard Kyng Guajardo; and his siblings, Martin Mendez (Annabell), Alfonso Mendez (Toni), Frank Mendez (Lupe), Lionosid Mendez (Rosa), Phillip Mendez (Rosie), Manuel Mendez (Lidia), Ernest Mendez (Lanetta), Isabel Mendez and Juanita Mendez.
Visitation was held on Sunday, April 6th 2025 from 5:00 PM to 7:00 PM at the Lake Ridge Chapel and Memorial (6025 82nd St, Lubbock, TX 79424). A funeral service was held on Monday, April 7th 2025 at 10:00 AM at the same location.
