He was predeceased by: his father Roy Dunning; and his stepson Paul Leander "Andy" McChesney. He is survived by: his mother Shirley May Dunning (Knoth); his wife Dixie Dunning; his son Ronnie Dunning, Jr.; his stepchildren, Pete Hext, Sucinda Hext, Amy Katherine, Hays and Vanessa Ann Shirley; and his brother Michael Dunning. He is also survived by four grandchildren.
Visitation was held on Wednesday, April 16th 2025 from 10:00 AM to 12:00 PM at the House of Angels Funeral Home (1928 34th St, Lubbock, TX 79411). A graveside service was held on Wednesday, April 16th 2025 at 1:00 PM at the Lubbock Cemetery (2011 E 31st St, Lubbock, TX 79404).
