He was predeceased by: his parents, William Peters and Stella Peters. He is survived by: his wife Thelda Peters; his sons, Mike Peters (Gail) and Lance Peters (Mary); his stepchildren, Belinda O'Halloran and Rick Edwards (Wendy); his grandchildren, Nathan Peters, Dustin Peters, Annette Peters Sowiak, Brianne O'Halloran, Carson Edwards, Ryan Edwards, Will Edwards and Owen Edwards; and his great grandchild Kingston Peters.

The family of Ron Peters has designated Hospice of Lubbock, the Texas Boys Ranch of Lubbock or the Children's Home of Lubbock, for memorial contributions donated in his memory.
