He was predeceased by: his parents, Julio Vasquez Ortiz and Zeferina Molina Ortiz; his son Eddie Lopez Ortiz; and his siblings, Julio, Carmen Cordaway, Minga Benitez, Irma Rodriguez, Esperanza Serenil, Ruben Ortiz, Feliz Ortiz, Jesus Ortiz, Juan Ortiz, Candelario Ortiz (Cande) and Concepcion Cantu (Concha).
He is survived by: his wife Matilde Dominga Ortiz; his daughters, Cindy Mayne (Howard) of Lubbock, Patty Minor (Daniel) of Lorenzo and Terry Hall of Lorenzo; his daughter-in-law JoAnn Ortiz of Lubbock; his grandchildren, Mindy Lopez, M'Lynn Mayne, Daniel Minor (Dan), Gary Minor, Ramie Farmacka, Sean Hall, John Davila (Jad) and Brooke Ortiz; and his great grandchildren, Makenzie, Harlie Mayne, Daniel, Katherine Minor, Elizabeth Lopez, Ezaiah Cabello, Isaac Escobedo, Gary (GI), Logan, Austin Minor, Mia Davila, Ian Minjarez, Jaxon and Joshua Macke.
Visitation was held on Wednesday, March 12th 2025 from 3:00 PM to 9:00 PM. A rosary was held on Wednesday, March 12th 2025 at 7:00 PM at the Guajardo Funeral Chapels (407 N University Ave, Lubbock, TX 79415). A funeral Mass was held on Thursday, March 13th 2025 at 2:00 PM at the San Lorenzo Catholic Church. A burial was held on Thursday, March 13th 2025 at the Lorenzo Cemetery.
