We bid farewell to Mary J. Parra (Lubbock, Texas), whose journey of life gracefully concluded on March 1, 2025 at the age of 98. Mary touched countless lives with warmth and kindness, leaving behind cherished memories that will forever echo in hearts. She was predeceased by: her parents, Carlos L. Rangel and Aurelia N. Rangel; and her husband Col. Pete Parra. She is survived by: her children, Richard A. Parra of Dallas and Mary Elizabeth Parra of Dallas, Texas.; her siblings, Joseph Rangel of Georgetown and Olivia Lopez of Fresno, California.; and her sisters-in-law, Ramona Parra of Amarillo and Florence Parra of Albuquerque. She is also survived by her family throughout her husband.

Memorial contributions can be made to the Lt. Col. "Pete" Parra Family Scholarship fund at the University of Missouri School of Journalism.
