She was predeceased by: her husband J. R. Newton; her parents, William Crumpton and Billie Crumpton; her brother Jack Crumpton; and her niece Kathy Crumpton.

She is survived by: her sister Jean Rhoten; and her nieces and nephews, Crystal Jenkins (Cody), Rick Rhoten, Butch Rhoten, Dana Rhoten, Ann Atkins, Jackie Ferris, Bill and Ronnie Crumpton.

Visitation was held on Thursday, January 2nd 2025 from 5:00 PM to 7:00 PM at the Lake Ridge Chapel and Memorial (6025 82nd St, Lubbock, TX 79424). A funeral service was held on Friday, January 3rd 2025 at 2:00 PM at the same location.
