He was predeceased by: his parents, Laura Delilah Merritt Jones and James Ausbin Jones, Sr.; and his brothers, Sonny, Phil and Wade.
He is survived by: his grandchildren, Darlene, Deborah, Edna and Sammy; his wife Sandra; his children, Jo Diann Scarborough (Jodi) and Joseph Arthur Jones, Jr. (Archie); his great grandchildren, Jami Diane Jones Ward, Kati Lynn Templeton, Ausbin Jones, Abner Jones, Bailey, Scott Scarborough, Garrett and Rex Scarborough; his siblings, Jim Jones, Sarah Key, Daniel Jones, Ward Jones, Dean Jones and Amy Smith; and also, William and Jackson Ward.
A celebration of life was held on Friday, April 4th 2025 at 10:30 AM at the Sunset Church of Christ (3723 34th St, Lubbock, TX 79410). A burial was held on Saturday, April 12th 2025 at 10:30 AM at the Fort Towson Cemetery.
