He was predeceased by: his parents, Pedro Huerta, Sr. and Catarina Lemos Huerta; his wife Celia N. Huerta; his son Joe Huerta, Jr.; his grandson Joe Flores III; and his siblings, Juan, Pete, Pablo, Tony, Guadalupe Huerta and Manuela Daniels.
He is survived by: his children, Velma, Edmund, Edward, Cathy and Amanda Huerta.
Visitation was held on Wednesday, January 8th 2025 from 3:00 PM to 9:00 PM at the Guajardo Funeral Chapels (407 N University Ave, Lubbock, TX 79415). A rosary was held on Wednesday, January 8th 2025 at 7:00 PM at the same location. A funeral Mass was held on Thursday, January 9th 2025 at 10:00 AM at the Our Lady of Guadalupe Catholic Church (1120 52nd St, Lubbock, TX 79412).
