He was predeceased by: his parents, Vidal Herrera and Felipa Herrera; and his children, Irma Lee Herrera and Vidal Herrera. He is survived by: his wife Mary Herrera of Lubbock; his children, Joe Herrera Jr. (Cathy) of Lubbock, Linda (Ruben Stone) of Lubbock and Olga Aleman of Lubbock; and his siblings, Santos Garza of Seminole and Fannie Herrera Aguirre of Kenedy, Texas. He is also survived by twenty-one grandchildren, forty-two great grandchildren and two great great grandchildren.
